We'll today I got to live out a child hood dream...close to 15 years ago we took a trip to BC and travelled everywhere and one of the stops was blackcomb.
We took a chair to the top were they were skiing on the horstman glacier and i ask the guide which is one of the crasiest runs...and he walked us across a ledge and we looked over a shoot that went into the glacier bowland he told me that it was called the Saddam couloir and that it was the run to ski it is surrounded by two rock faces with a shoot about 30 feet wide and about 1000 feet long...and at that moment it was a life long goal to ski the suddam.
Today at about 2 oclock i passed the horstman hut and found myself with tip of my skis hanging over the cornis that drops in the coluoir...with the help of my friend ashley and one jump turn later i found myself fulfilling a life long dream, as the snow of each turn crumbled and passed me on the hill i linked turn after turn untill i found myself at the bottom and looked up at a near vertical wall call the Suddam colouir and realized that this just might have been the greatest ski run of my life!!that was only the second half of my day the first half of my day started with trackless un touched powder up to your knees from top to bottom of whistler...so today i fullfilled two lifelong goals...and the second was skiing untouched mountain powder and i gotta say it really is all its cracked up to be...
So whistler has been amazing and i can't wait to get back january!!!
the couloir is the run to the left of the peak were the shadow line is! apparantly i just read that its actually 2500 feet to the bottom of the bowl and they designate this run a no fall run because a fall can cause serious inury or death!

3rd Day of cabling
we'll its been fun couple of days on the mountain, our crew is starting to get the swing of things and starting to get out cabling legs. The conditions are finally starting to let up and get a little bit warmer. Allthough its still very icy, we are expecting 30 - 40 centimeters over the next three days which will be very welcome after all the ice. Today we are going out for a birthday celebration for a good friend on one of the other crews....other than that i will keep you posted once we get some more snow and get some fun skiing in!!!

we'll its a short blog today! but i got to ski the high alpine of whistle, they opened the peak chair and i was able to get a few good runs in on the whistler bowl. I have to say the high altitude about 7000 feet, you get tired soo quick im talking under 30 seconds and your legs are just burning. But it is something cool to be skiing above the tree line. It definatly is the steepest slope ive ever skied...ill post the pick were you can see a guy holding the ledge of snow that you have to drop off to get into the bowl, it helps to give an idea of how steep it is!!! and then i took someother pics of the back side of bowl that takes you back down to the peak chair...its steep but not as steep.

First Two days @ Whistler
Sorry for the delay everyone, they want us to pay a million dollars for internet at the Hilton and I only just found out that they have a room with a computer in it...lol.
nyways the past two days have been amazing, blue sky, great weather and great skiing. As for my new boots we'll lets just say that yesterday was a little painfull. I got them punched out in whistler village today and they feel great.
As for skiing we did a run through of the venue yesterday and i got to see were all the cable im gonna be laying will be going and then we did some skiing.
So i have been to the top of whistler and man was it cold minus 20 and 50 mph winds...my hands went numb instantly, so we quickly dropped into the whistler bowl and skied our asses down lower. Then the guys all went out for drinks on the village and hit up, thanks for Shea the most expensive joint in town...can you say 8 dollar ryes...man i missed china!!! hahaha but the girls were way cuter. haha
As for today after getting my boots punched out and doing runs and then going back to get them punched again i finally got some skiing in...after doing some whis runs I decided i had to do the Peak to Peak gondola over to blackcomb, allthough its a completely pointless tram its is pretty cool. So then up to the peak of blackcomb for some non stop top to bottom leg busting runs down blackcomb. No i didn't stop and yes i kept making turns and wholy crap did my legs hurt by the end.
I have to say these have been two of the coolest days of my life, i would have cried tears of joy at the top but seeing how i already had a snotsicle and figure lets hold off of the tears...lol
The mountain really is everything they say it is so lets keep out fingers crossed that we get a dump of snow before i have to leave so i can see what true big mountain powder is really all about.
And no mom, i havn't killed myself yet.....
Oh and the drive to from vancouver to whistler is probably one of the most amazing drives i have ever been on i snapped some pics for you all to see...it really is out of this world!!!
Oh and i meet some awesome bus friends ill put thos up too!!!
